ZIN = Zumba Instructor Network. It's provided by the Zumba company to kind of create a standard for classes and give you new options for music and choreography. It's $30 per month (automatically drafted out of your bank account), and each month, you have something to look forward to, either a Mega Mix CD (no choreography) or a CD and DVD combo pack (with two choreography options: a one-on-one break down and a live class setting. Two different dances for each song, so you can pick what you like or mix and match).

There are quite a few types of Zumba licenses you can get (B1, B2, Aqua Zumba, Zumba Gold, Zumba Toning, Zumbatonic, etc), but you'll usually want to start with B1. It's the basic license and is an all-day thing. With ZIN, you keep your license indefinitely as long as you're paying each month. Without ZIN, you have to re-license in a year to keep teaching (which is $200 + ). With ZIN, you also get a discount on Zumba gear (CDs, accessories, clothes, DVDs, and shoes) and future training (if you want to attend B1, Zumba Gold, or other workshops). There are also message boards, promotional materials (you can make your own posters and business cards), and choreography notes available through ZIN.

There are many perks to belonging to ZIN. As a ZIN member, you get discounts on Zumbawear, Zumba products (like video games), and also discounts for training. Additional training is half-price to ZIN members. Many events (and even some training) are exclusive only to ZIN members. These include things like the Zumba conference each year, ZIN JAMS (choreography sessions hosted by Zumba Jammers), and many more. ZIN members have the opportunity to get choreography training from Zumba Jammers. Zumba Jammers are other ZINS that Zumba has specified as great choreographers and instructors. Jammers host 3-4 hour JAM sessions where you can learn new choreography and tips for teaching. Zumba JAM sessions are only open to ZIN members. As a ZIN member, you get continuing education materials each month. Every other month, you get a CD of music and a DVD of choreography that goes along with it. In the other months, you get a CD of music that you can choreograph your dances to. It is GREAT to always have music coming your way! New music keeps your classes fresh! Your Zumba license is only good for one year. However, if you join ZIN, you get your continuing education there, and therefore, your license is good as long as you are a ZIN member. It is a great way to extend your Zumba license by always learning more.
