Sam’s Club is a shopping retailer. It was founded in 1983 in Midwest City, Oklahoma and was named after the Walmart founder, Sam Walton. It is a subsidiary of Walmart. Sam’s Club is a members-only retail wholesale club. There are 599 U.S. locations. Sam’s Club also has locations in Mexico, China, Brazil, and Puerto Rico. In the United States, there are clubs in 44 states with Massachusetts, Alaska, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington being the only states that do not have a Sam’s Club. The Chief Executive Officer is John Furner. The headquarters are located in Bentonville, Arkansas, which is the same headquarter location for Walmart. Each Sam’s Club warehouse is generally between 94,000-161,000 sq ft. with the actual club being around 134,000 sq ft. There were locations in Canada but the last Sam’s Club there closed in 2009.

They sell electronics, office supplies, home decor, furniture, auto supplies, patio & garden supplies, children’s accessories, grocery, pet supplies, health & beauty products, jewelry, toys, and sporting goods. You must be a member to gain access into Sam’s Club to shop. There are two types of memberships. The basic membership plan is $45 per year and includes instant savings, a Sam’s Club Mastercard with cash back rewards, gas savings, free select prescriptions, free access to the Tire and Battery Center, and a complimentary card so that other members of your household can use it. You can add up to 8 members to the basic plan. The Sam’s Plus plan is $100 per year. It includes cash back rewards, free shipping, early shopping hours, instant savings, Sam’s Club Mastercard, gas savings, free select prescriptions, discount on glasses, free access to the Tire and Battery Center, and a complimentary card so that other members of your household can shop. You can add up to 16 members to the Plus plan.

With Sam’s Club Mastercard, you can earn exclusive rewards. You can get up to 5% cash back on gas (on the first $6,000 spent per year). You can also gain 3% cash back on dining and travel. You will gain 1% cash back on other purchases throughout the warehouse and online. There are zero foreign transaction fees. There is also no annual fee. Both the Sam’s Club Credit Card and Sam’s Club Mastercard is accepted at both Sam’s Club and Walmart locations nationwide. They also double as your membership card.
