Their new Local community memberships give members access to select clubs in their neighborhood, with more amenities, activities, and studio classes than single club memberships. They have created an experience that goes far beyond fitness, with 45+ locations across California and so many amenities to choose from. They understand that socializing and relaxation are just as important as exercise. To keep you active, In-Shape hosts monthly senior socials, pickleball tournaments, aqua classes, and other events. In-Shape has something for everyone, from beginners to exercise enthusiasts.
Stay motivated with Aqua Fit, SilverSneakers Classic, Forever Fit, Zumba, and other senior-focused group classes! Their clubs are full of amenities to keep you relaxed, from saunas and steam rooms to HydroMassage beds. Their clubs are more than just places to exercise; they are also places to unwind from the stresses of everyday life. Tennis, pickleball, racquetball, basketball, and even volleyball are all available at some clubs. Furthermore, their pools are ideal for swimming laps or simply relaxing. There's always something exciting going on at In-Shape! They have everything from Senior Socials to Pickleball and Tennis Tournaments.
Every week, hundreds of group fitness classes are held at In-Shape clubs. Their members adore Group Fitness because of their motivating instructors and diverse class offerings. Have you ever taken a class? Group fitness classes, like other areas of the gym, have etiquette. Follow these guidelines to ensure that your class is the best it can be. All group fitness classes require reservations. Make a reservation in the In-Shape app or Member Hub up to three days in advance.
They always want their members to be safe, which includes dressing appropriately. Most classes will require athletic attire and close-toed shoes. Wear grippy socks, go barefoot, or wear non-slip shoes to some mind-body classes, such as Yoga and Barre. They want you to be comfortable and safe regardless of the format! Please inquire if you are unsure about the appropriate clothing and footwear. If you need to do some extra stretching or warming up before class, arrive early. Your instructor will plan a warm-up, but everyone is different, and you may require more time to prepare your body.
Arrive at least five minutes before your scheduled class time. Certain classes, such as BODYPUMP, will necessitate more preparation time. Setting up your equipment after class has begun is unsafe for other students, so please plan! If you arrive early and the previous class has not yet left, wait until they have left before entering. If this is your first time taking the class, inform your instructor, and they will make sure you have everything you need. If you have an injury or physical limitations, this is a great time to let them know so that they can make modifications to ensure you get the best workout for your body that day.
Please turn off your phone and keep it somewhere you won't be tempted to use it. They understand that having your phone is necessary for some people, and taking a call outside of class is sometimes unavoidable. But, if at all possible, block out those sixty minutes on your calendar for your mental health. Show extra kindness and encouragement if you see someone who appears nervous or is having difficulty performing parts of the workout. Trying new things is difficult, and those who are willing to step outside of their comfort zones should be praised.
They appreciate the fact that you've made friends in your group fitness classes, but talking can be distracting, and they don't want you to miss a single minute of your workout. If you find yourself talking a lot, ask a friend to catch up with you after class. You can always go out to lunch or grab a smoothie together. End-of-class stretches can be tempting to skip, but they're an important part of a proper cooldown. Make it a habit to stay until the end because those few minutes of cooling down and stretching those muscles are extremely beneficial. Please clean your mat, put your weights away, and leave nothing behind. They want their group fitness rooms to be prepared for the next class.
